Beachcomber sketches

We took advantage of the continued warm and summery weather for a few days away camping along the north coast of New South Wales, starting at Diamond Head (four days of cold showers, but the weather was warm enough to cope with them!) and lots of wildlife, large goannas, kangaroos, birds, fruit bats, then moving on to South West Rocks and finally Urunga, on the coast close to Bellingen. As always, I spent time wandering looking for interesting objects to draw. Below are some of these.

I draw, I paint, I am a printmaker. Always searching for the interesting detail in the world around me.

  1. Welcome back Anna 🙂 sounds like a lovely camping trip even with cold showers .
Loved looking at your sketching and painting enlarged and seeing your details and washes of beachcombing finds 🙂
I remember the noisy sounds of the Australian Lorikeets and other birds you have over there … that was one of the joys of our trip way back .

    1. Thank you Poppytump! Only away a week and I feel I missed a lot … but it was lovely, perfect weather. The lorikeets are amazingly loud, no corellas on this trip though, they are even noisier I think! But plenty of kookaburras as a morning alarm call. Good to have you back too!

  2. Hi Anna, Thank you for following my blog. I absolutely love your beachcomber sketches. My father lived at South West Rocks for many years and the sketches bought back lovely memories of my days there. I love your work. Cheers from Christine
