Working in a small format with fine detail has always appealed to me, so in 1995 I joined the Australian Society of Miniature Art, and am still an active member.
The criteria for a miniature artwork are that the image has a perimeter of no more than 40cm (such as 10 x 10cm or 12 x 8cm) and that all subject matter is miniaturised, with no heavy marks or brushstrokes.
I have exhibited paintings, prints, hand-made books and always drawings, winning prizes at times along the way. As my larger work has changed and developed, so have my miniatures. Below are some examples of my favourite pieces over the years, the most recent at the top.
