Seaweed

This is an experimental piece, trying out Claybord. I drew the seaweed from a piece I found drying on a beach, initially just in graphite, then added colour to the left hand strand with Faber Castell Albrecht Durer watercolour pencils. I enjoyed the textures I could obtain with the water added to the pencil, and the opportunity to layer colours, to achieve the subtle tones I wanted. I will leave the right hand strand in graphite, I think it would be too busy with both in colour. 17 cm x 12 cm
